Veins & Lesions

Vein Treatment

Varicose veins are treated by sclerotherapy.  Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure that involves injecting a special solution, called a sclerosing agent, directly into varicose veins to make them collapse, seal shut, and eventually disappear.

Laser vein treatment is a great option for smaller spider veins or facial lesions. Fotona Nd: YAG or Cutera Nd:YAG laser treatments directs pulses of light energy into veins. The energy from the laser is absorbed by the blood in the vein, converted into heat, and the vein walls are subsequently destroyed. In comparison with other wavelengths, which mainly affect the surface layers of a lesion, Nd:YAG light also targets the underlying vascular feeding system, which is important for ensuring the long-term efficacy the treatment. This process is perfectly safe as other healthy veins supply blood to the treated area and the body’s immune system clears away the damaged vascular structure.

Laser Treatments of Warts, Fungus and Benign Lesions

Spot treatment with laser

ClearSteps is a revolutionary method for treating onychomycosis (toe nail fungus) in a quick and effective way with Fotona Dynamis Nd:YAG laser light. Laser light heats evenly throughout the depth of effected nail and skin tissue, effectively weakening and killing parasitic fungi, which have infected the nail.  The treatment is performed four times at one-week intervals. ClearSteps Onychomycosis Treatment is the most effective and least invasive treatment of fungal nail infection. The treatment is extremely fast and easy to perform and has an unsurpassed treatment success rate compared to traditional methods. An important advantage of the ClearSteps treatment method is that no oral medications or chemicals are used. Therefore, there are no dangerous side effects as there are with conventional treatments.

Warts are small, benign growths caused by a viral infection of the skin or mucous membrane. The viruses that cause warts are members of the human papilloma virus (HPV) family.  Warts are contagious from person to person and from one area of the body to another on the same person. There is no one recommended method for eliminating warts.  The ND: Yag is another treatment option for removal of warts. Laser treatment is based on the principle of photo dermal or photomechanical destruction of the target tissue.  You may need 1-4 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart for optimal results.

Using laser technology, benign lesions such as skin tags, sun spots and seborrheic keratosis can safely be removed with a cosmetically pleasing result.

Vascular Laser Treatment

Spider veins, hemangiomas and other vascular lesions on the face and body can be treated safely and effective with Cutera Xeo or Fotona Dynamis ND:YAG laser.  The energy from the laser is absorbed by the blood in the vessel, converted into heat, and the vessel walls are subsequently destroyed. In comparison with other wavelengths, which mainly affect the surface layers of a lesion, Nd:YAG light also targets the underlying vascular feeding system, which is important for ensuring the long-term efficacy the treatment. The treated vascular lesion is then naturally absorbed by the body. Typically these small lesions are treated in 1-2 short sessions.
